The Genie 2028 is available with a steel reinforced belt or chain drive, giving homeowners two options for residential sectional doors measuring up to 10 feet tall. Its DC motor brings the door up to speed gradually and slows it before closing, creating more controlled movement throughout each cycle. The C channel rail also covers the rotating belt or chain for a more finished appearance.
To support consistent remote operation, the Auto Seek system evaluates two frequencies and uses the one with less nearby interference. Intellicode® adds another level of protection against copied access codes. The opener can be connected with as many as 16 remotes and keypads, along with HomeLink® and Car2U® equipped vehicles without a separate bridge or repeater.
The opener raises the door at speeds of up to seven inches per second. Its single light faces into the garage to place illumination where it is more useful. A Genie LED bulb is recommended, or homeowners can use an incandescent bulb rated at no more than 60 watts. The motor includes a 10 year limited warranty.
