Technician Inspecting Garage Door Opener

Repair or Replace?

In a lot of cases, many garage door openers can be repaired without requiring a replacement. Precision Door technicians arrive with a wide variety of parts in their trucks so they can service your opener on the first visit.

There are still some cases however where a replacement might be necessary:

  • If the brand or manufacturer no longer exists, it may be hard to find replacement parts for your opener.
  • If a manufacturer has encountered many lawsuits due to safety, we don't feel comfortable repairing these openers for the safety of your family.
  • Federal regulations surrounding garage door openers were enacted in 1993. If your opener was installed prior to 1993, it may be time for a replacement. This is especially true if your opener does not have safety eyes, which is crucial for a safe operating garage door.
